Everything Your Home Needs.Nothing You Don't.
A complete hydronic heat pump replacement, thermal storage, intelligent controls, and professional installation, for significantly less than a traditional hydronic upgrade. Here's exactly what you get.
One System. Complete Comfort.
Thermal Dawn is a complete replacement for your gas boiler, not a component you need to spec, source, and coordinate separately. Everything arrives together, gets installed together, and is commissioned and tested as an integrated system before we leave.
What's Included
Every quote covers the complete system: the heat pump, the Australian-made thermal store, the smart controls and app, connection to your existing pipework, and commissioning. At the heart of it is the heavily insulated store, 30 kWh of heat in the 500L launch tank, banking your cheapest energy as heat and running your home through the evening with the heat pump off through the expensive hours. It fits in a utility room, garage, or outside in a weatherproof enclosure, and it's built to last decades.
Hot water can run off the same system as an optional add-on, so one gas line gets capped instead of two. Here's how it all fits around what your home already has:
Heat. Cool. Hot Water. Pool. One Thermal Dawn System.
While we're replacing your boiler, it's worth thinking bigger. Thermal Dawn is a full reverse-cycle hydronic system, the same thermal storage that heats your home in winter can do a lot more.
Home Heating
Through your existing radiators and underfloor circuits, exactly as before. Just no gas bill.
Home Cooling
Thermal Dawn runs in reverse cycle to cool your home in summer. Works with hydronic underfloor cooling or fan coil units. If you don't have cooling today, this is the moment to add it.
Hot Water
One system, one gas line capped instead of two, one company. Hot water is an optional add-on, worth raising at your site assessment.
Pool Heating
Already have a pool? Thermal Dawn can extend to pool heating, keeping your water at temperature using stored solar, not gas or a separate electric heater at peak rates.
One system can cover all of these. Your site assessment maps out which of them make sense for your home.
The Last One Went In and Out in Two Days.
Thermal Dawn is installed by licensed hydronic heating professionals who understand both the hydronic side and the electrical requirements of heat pump systems. We don't use generalist trades.
What installation covers
Installation of the thermal store in the agreed location, heat pump placement and commissioning, hydronic pipework connection and pressure testing, electrical connection and switchboard check, smart controls setup and app configuration, full system test across all zones, and a walkthrough with you before we leave.
Timeline
Most homes take one to two days including commissioning and clean-up. Homes with more complex pipework, additional zones, or switchboard upgrades may take a day longer, we flag this in your quote after the site assessment so there are no surprises.
Warranty
Comprehensive coverage across all components, details confirmed with your quote. Because Thermal Dawn uses standard hydronic components, any licensed HVAC technician can service it. No proprietary lock-in.
Significantly Less Than a Traditional Hydronic Upgrade.
With More Capability.
A traditional hydronic heat pump replacement, a standard imported unit, buffer tank, and installation, typically costs $20,000 to $40,000 for an Australian home. That's before intelligent controls, thermal storage, or cooling capability.
Thermal Dawn delivers all of that for a single fixed installed price, quoted after we've seen your home. We don't publish a single sticker price because every home is different, pipework, placement, electrical, and how many of the four capabilities (heating, cooling, hot water, pool) you want all move the number. What we do instead: give you a fixed installed quote at your free site assessment, with nothing to pay until you approve it.
"We've been looking for 5 years for a hydronic heat pump, but we didn't want to pay $25,000. We finally did it."
Mike & Kay, Hawthorn
$20,000 to $40,000
Typical traditional hydronic heat pump replacement, imported unit, basic controls, no thermal storage, no cooling.
What you get for it
Controls that learn your home, flow temperatures up to 70°C so existing radiators work, a large Australian-made thermal store, and full system management from the app.
$0 until you approve
No cost until you approve your fixed quote after your site assessment. Fully refundable $190 reservation. No obligation.
What's Included, and What's Not
No surprises. Here's exactly where our quote starts and stops.
Included in your Thermal Dawn quote
- The thermal store, heat pump, fan coils/controls, and app
- Connection to your existing hydronic pipework, pressure testing, and commissioning
- Smart controls setup and a full walkthrough
Not included (and flagged upfront in your quote if you need them)
- Electrical or switchboard upgrades, where required. Use your own electrician or we'll organise one from the trades we work with regularly
- Capping of your gas line, carried out by a licensed plumber
- Optional gas-meter disconnection to cut the daily supply charge
- Any non-standard pipework or additional zones
Licensed gas and electrical work is always carried out by qualified, licensed tradespeople. If you'd like to keep costs down, you can take on the parts that don't need a licence, clearing access, prep, moving and lifting, or arrange your own licensed electrician or plumber for the trade work. Tell us at the assessment and we'll take it out of the quote.
Already Got a Quote? Here's How to Compare It.
Most people who talk to us are holding a quote from someone else. That's a good position to be in, but the quotes are rarely comparing the same thing. Before you weigh price against price, check what each one actually covers:
- Does it include cooling? Many hydronic heat pump quotes are heating only. If cooling matters to you, that's a separate system later, at a separate price.
- Does it include storage? A heat pump without thermal storage heats on demand, which means it draws power at the exact hours power costs the most. Same comfort, very different running cost.
- Does it include hot water? Often quoted separately, or left on your existing gas unit, which keeps your gas connection and its daily supply charge alive.
- Does it include ductwork or new emitters? Worth asking directly. Ducted quotes in particular can carry significant work that isn't obvious in the headline number.
- Is the price fixed? Ask whether switchboard work, pipework changes and access are inside the number or flagged as variations later.
We're happy to look at a quote you've been given and tell you what it does and doesn't cover, even if you go with it. Send it through with your quote request, or bring it to the assessment.

The Real Cost of Staying on Gas.
Gas hydronic heating costs the average Australian household $1,657 to $1,814 per year in energy alone, according to Sustainability Victoria's 2024 data. Over 15 years that's $25,000 to $27,000 just in running costs, before a single gas price increase.
Gas network charges have risen consistently for a decade and there's no credible scenario where gas gets cheaper. Every year you stay on gas locks in that trajectory.
Thermal Dawn shifts your hydronic heating load onto the cheapest energy available to you, dropping what you spend running it from around $1,800 a year to a few hundred. Your own payback depends on your gas bill, your tariff and how much of the system you take, and we model it for your home at the site assessment.
The whole evening ran on heat bought at midday prices.
Not a slogan. That is a measured day from a Hawthorn home, and it is where the numbers below come from.
Lifetime Cost Comparison, 15 Years
| Stay on gas | Standard heat pump | Thermal Dawn | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gas connection needed | Yes | No | No |
| Australian-made storage | No | No | Yes |
| Cooling included | No | Depends | Yes |
| Thermal storage | No | No | Yes |
| 15-year running cost | ~$25,000 to $27,000 | ~$10,500 | ~$6,000 to $9,000 |
| System cost | $5 to 8k (boiler only) | $20 to 40k | Fixed quote at assessment |
| Est. annual running cost | ~$1,800/yr | ~$700/yr (grid) | ~$400 to 600/yr |
The standard heat pump figure assumes on-demand heating at dawn and dusk, when there is little solar to use. Thermal Dawn's assumes charging in the cheapest window of the day, whether that is your own solar, a free power window, or overnight off-peak. Gas figures are Sustainability Victoria 2024, as above.

Frequently asked questions
Why don't you show a price on the site?
Because a single number would be misleading. Your installed price depends on your home, pipework, placement, electrical, and how many capabilities (heating, cooling, hot water, pool) you want. We give you a fixed, no-obligation quote at your free site assessment, and you pay nothing until you approve it.
When do I pay, and is the deposit refundable?
A fully refundable $190 reservation holds your place in the queue, or $990 for the founder tier, also fully refundable. Either way you pay nothing further until you approve your fixed quote after the site assessment, and there is no obligation up to that point. Both tiers are set out on the reserve page.
Why is it cheaper than a traditional hydronic upgrade?
No catch, the saving comes from pre-integrating components at the factory instead of buying them through plumbing wholesalers and assembling on site, plus manufacturing the thermal store ourselves. You get thermal storage and cooling a standard heat pump doesn't include, for less than a traditional hydronic upgrade.
What's included, and what's extra?
See "What's Included, and What's Not" above. In short: the system, pipework connection, and commissioning are included; a switchboard upgrade, gas-boiler removal and gas-line capping, and optional gas-meter disconnection are flagged upfront in your quote if your home needs them.
